What is included in the daily nursing home rate?

Our basic per diem rate (daily room and board rate) includes the following:

  1.  Routine nursing care and supervision;

  2.  Special diets ordered by the physician;

  3.  Routine dental care;

  4.  Food and lodging;

  5.  Activity and recreational programs;

  6.  Laundry of bed linens, sheets, towels, pillowcases, and personal items;

  7.  Some medical supplies;

  8.  Medical equipment (i.e., wheelchairs, walkers, etc.);

  9.  Oxygen;

10.  Transportation by car or wheelchair van to medical appointments;

 

Our basic per diem rate does NOT include the following:

  1.  Special private duty nursing care;

  2.  Psychological services;

  3.  Physical, Occupational or Speech therapy;

  4.  Physician visits;

  5.  Special dental care outside of routine visits;

  6.  Podiatry services;

  7.  Eyeglasses;

  8.  Ambulance transportation;

  9.  Personal items (haircuts/beautician, newspaper, cable TV, cosmetics, telephone, etc.);

10.  Other items that may be requested by the resident and that are not covered; and/or

11.  Medications.

Charges for non-covered items will be made by the provider directly to the resident, responsible person or government agency as the case may be.
